Welcome to New York

New York, often called New York City or NYC, is the most populous city in the United States. Situated on one of the world's largest harbors, New York City comprises five boroughs, each of which is coextensive with a respective county. New York City is a global city and a cultural, financial, high-tech, entertainment, glamor, and media center with a significant influence on commerce, health care, research, technology, education, politics, tourism, dining, art, fashion, and sports.

Central Park is an urban park between the Upper West Side and Upper East Side neighborhoods of Manhattan. It is the fifth-largest park in the city and the most visited urban park in the United States, with an estimated 42 million visitors annually.

Times Square is a major commercial intersection, tourist destination, entertainment hub, and neighborhood in Midtown Manhattan. It is formed by the junction of Broadway, Seventh Avenue, and 42nd Street.

The Statue of Liberty is a colossal sculpture on Liberty Island in New York Harbor. The copper statue, a gift from the people of France, was designed by French sculptor Frédéric Auguste Bartholdi and it was dedicated on October 28, 1886.

The Brooklyn Bridge spans the East River between the boroughs of Manhattan and Brooklyn and was the first bridge to do so, opening in 1883. It was also the longest suspension bridge in the world at the time of its opening.

The Empire State Building is a 102-story Art Deco skyscraper in Midtown Manhattan and was the world's tallest building until the first tower of the World Trade Center was topped out in 1970. Now, the building is the seventh-tallest building in New York City.

The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City, colloquially "the Met", is the largest art museum in the Americas. In 2022 it welcomed 3,208,832 visitors, ranking it the third most visited U.S museum.
